
A well-known British diplomat and politician is visiting the Island next month, to talk about a heroic mission from World War Two.
Paddy Ashdown will be the guest of the Isle of Man Sporting and Dining club on March 27 at an event at the Gaiety Theatre.
He’ll share the story of the Cockleshell Heroes, when 12 commandos were sent kayaking up the Gironde to blow up Nazi ships in Bordeaux.
