
One of the toughest events on the Manx sporting calendar takes place today.
The Isle of Man Mountain Ultra sees competitors tackle a 50 kilometre course over all the Island's major peaks between Ramsey and Port Erin.
The race used to be called the Manx Mountain Marathon and was traditionally held on Easter Saturday.
Organiser, Richie Stevenson, says it will take time for people to get used to the event being on at the end of September, but weather conditions should be more favourable:-
