Island recognised as world biosphere reserve
The founder of a local environmental charity says he was surprised by the high praise it received from a UNESCO representative this week.
Bill Dale has been speaking to Manx Radio after Han Qunli singled out his organisation as an example for the rest of the world when it comes to coastal conservation and cleaning.
Mr Han made the comments as he presented a certificate to the chief minister at the Manx Museum on Tuesday night, recognising the Island as a world biosphere reserve.
Bill says they came out of the blue.
