Meeting to hear call for legal regulation of drugs
A local father whose two sons died from an ecstasy overdose will speak out on current drug policy tonight (24 April).
The Positive Action Group and Isle of Man Freethinkers are hosting a meeting in Douglas - where Ray Lakeman will present his argument on why drugs need legal regulation.
Jacques and Torin Lakeman died in December 2014 after taking MDMA - or ecstasy - that they'd bought on the dark web.
He says prohibition hasn't stopped people using - he proposes that if dosage is controlled, tragedies can be avoided.
Jane Slater of UK-based Transform Drug Policy Foundation shares his view, and will also speak at the event.
It starts at 7:30pm in the Manx Legion Club in Douglas.
