Financial Services Authority raising awareness of deceptive marketing techniques
The growing threat of greenwashing is the subject of new guidance notes published by the Financial Services Authority.
Greenwashing is when a company or product falsely promotes itself as environmentally friendly by means of deceptive marketing or advertising designed to appeal to a consumer's wish to make sustainable investment choices.
The FSA seeks to raise awareness within the Island's regulated sector of consumer protection risks related to the practice.
