Green light for Strang Corner project
Building work on a £5 million multi-purpose community centre in Braddan is expected to begin next summer.
Parish Commissioners obtained outline planning permission for the complex last year - a revised plan for a lower cost project won approval earlier this month.
The site, at Strang Corner Field is set to include the Commissioners' offices, as well as a sports hall, gym, dental practice, pharmacy, nursery, 73-space car park and hospitality outlet.
Designs for the centre will now be put out to tender, and if the local authority wishes to go ahead, its budget will be put to the Treasury for approval.
