Tynwald always final arbiter, says CM
There are concerns a new bill aimed at navigating the Island through Brexit puts too much power in the hands of ministers.
The European Union and Trade Bill passed its first reading in the House of Keys on Tuesday (23 Oct).
But some members say the legislation could give the Council of Ministers free rein to change laws without consulting the parliament.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle assured critics that Tynwald would always be the 'final arbiter' of changes to legislation, and reviews would be undertaken regularly.
