Manx Radio producer-presenter Kate Holland wins bronze in New York Festivals awards
A Manx Radio programme compiled by a broadcasting newcomer, has won a prestigious international award.
Kate Holland won bronze in the 2015 New York Festivals awards for her documentary on women in Manx politics.
Now a producer-presenter on Women Today, Kate created the programme while a newsroom broadcast intern.
The awards, announced in the Big Apple last night (22 June) are held in high regard by the global radio industry and reflect original ideas and compelling story-telling.
Kate has a degree in politics and sociology and says the programme was more a 'personal crusade' than anything else.
Manx Radio's controller of programming Marc Tyley says the documentary's fresh approach to a unique issue will have caught the judges' ears.
