Road racing memorabilia up for grabs
An auction on Saturday will underline the passion for motorcycling felt by one of the most familar voices at the TT.
The late Geoff Cannell's collection of TT and Manx Grand Prix memorabilia will go under the hammer at the Isle of Man Motor Museum in Jurby which, this weekend, celebrates the second anniversary of its opening.
A quick glance at the list of over 500 items up for sale show that Geoff was eclectic in his collecting.
From books to signed photos, many postcards, MGP winning sashes, EP records of TT races, the list goes on.
When experts came to check what was in the Cannell collection, they found six chests full, a TT treasure trove.
Items like the midwood postcards to a book signed by Mike Hailwood saying "best wishes Geoff, dont believe a word of it", are all up for race enthusiasts to own.
