DEFA minister defends fishing restrictions
Geoffrey Boot says a majority of fishermen understood the decision to introduce a catch limit on king scallops in Manx waters.
The Environment, Food and Agriculture minister was speaking after it was confirmed this week the restriction had been lifted, after almost three months of operation.
Mr Boot has since announced plans to meet with his British counterparts, in a bid to address the issue surrounding diminishing Irish Sea stocks.
But he believes some will always be unhappy with restrictions on fishing:
