No visiting at Salisbury Street
Salisbury Street Care Home, in Douglas, has closed to visitors after a Covid-19 outbreak.
The change came into force at midnight and will be in place for 14 days.
Visiting will be allowed on compassionate grounds and managed on a case by case basis.
In a letter to families and friends of residents the registered manager says the decision has not been taken lightly because she recognises the 'distress' that it causes.
However she says the home has a duty of care to continue to protect vulnerable residents, and staff, by minimising the number of people visiting.
An update on the decision will be provided on 21 March.
