The jury in a murder trial will hear the Deemster continue his case summary at Douglas Courthouse today.
Ian Anderson, who's 46, denies murdering 60-year-old Ballabeg man Neil Roberts, in late 2013.
It's week five of the trial - the jury is expected to adjourn to consider its verdict soon.
Deemster Alistair Montgomerie yesterday told the jury that in order to convict Mr Anderson of the charge of murder they must be able to answer yes to three main questions.
First, had the prosecution proved Mr Anderson killed Mr Roberts, second did Mr Anderson act unlawfully, and finally did Mr Anderson intend to kill or cause grievous bodily harm.
The deemster said if the jury got to the end of these questions and were not convinced, then the charge would be reduced to manslaughter.
In that scenario the burden then falls on the defence to convince the jury of two partial defences; provocation and diminished responsibility.
Deemster Montgomerie will continue with the defence's case after finishing the prosecution's yesterday.
