Successful bid for Douglas landmark
The Castle Mona Hotel has been sold at auction this morning (14 May).
The run-down landmark on Douglas promenade went for a price of £1.21 million.
The former home of the Duke of Athol attracted a number of bidders, both on the phone and at the auction which was held in London by auctioneers Lambert Smith Hampton.
It eventually went to a bidder in the room, whose identity is not yet known.
