Decision subject to planning approval
Castletown Commissioners have confirmed they want to demolish the old fire station.
The authority says the decision is subject to planning approval but it believes the site is still a 'strategic asset' to the town.
The commissioners add they've received expressions of interest about the potential uses for the site in recent weeks which. they believe, shows the 'value' of it.
If the demolition goes ahead the site will 'immediately' provide short term parking spaces for cars and tourist coaches.
