Vernon Unsworth raced on Mountain course
One of the divers involved in the multi-national effort to rescue the 12 young footballers trapped in flooded caves in Thailand, used to race on the TT course.
Vernon Unsworth competed in the MGP in 1983 and 1984, with his best finish a 9th place in the 83 Lightweight event.
Mr Unsworth was one of 7 British divers involved in the mammorth rescue operation which ended yesterday (Tues 10th) when the last of the boys were safely brought out of the caves.
One Thai Navy SEAL diver died during prepartion work for the rescue attempt.
