Doyle issues statement after award
Former First Deemster David Doyle says his recognition in the Queen's New Year Honours reflects "the contribution made by many within the Isle of Man Courts of Justice and the Manx legal profession".
Mr Doyle, who retired from the position this summer in order to return to private practice, was reflecting on becoming a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
In a statement, he says whilst the honour was unexpected, he was delighted that the work of the Island's independent judiciary and legal profession has been acknowledged in this way.
He also thanked family, friends and colleagues for their continuing inspiration and support.
