30 years after Chernobyl disaster
Thirty years after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, a Manx charity that helps children who still live with the consequences says it’s preparing to welcome its next group of visitors.
The Friends of Chernobyl’s Children brings groups of youngsters from Belarus to the Island each year for much-needed holidays.
Norman Rivers from the charity says while they’re here, they experience many things about the Isle of Man we take for granted – and get to spend some time away from their contaminated homeland.
Norman says this summer’s visit is now just months away:

Immigration changes designed to stop exploitation by 'bad eggs'
Plantation wood, telegraph poles and Satnav to be discussed in the House of Keys
Contingency budget for horse tram tracks 'significantly increased'
MHK to seek re-election in Arbory, Castletown and Malew
