Police warn darker nights may lead to rise in opportunist thefts
If you have an oil tank at home, police are reminding you to make sure it's secure as the nights start to become darker.
Officers says the earlier sunset means opportunist thefts may start to rise.
It comes as the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team has received a report of stolen home fuel this week.
The police are advising those who have oil to check the tank is secure and consider further measures such as a security light or padlock to deter thieves.
