Nearly 3,000 signatures
A pro-choice campaign group will present the Chief Minister with a petition today (16 Nov) calling for a new law to make abortions 'safe' and 'legal' for women on the Isle of Man.
Representatives of the Campaign for Abortion Law Modernisation, or CALM, are meeting Mr Quayle this morning to officially hand over the document.
It has nearly 3,000 signatories supporting changes to abortion legislation, 70% of which were Manx residents.
The issue divides opinion, but Spokesperson for CALM, Stephanie Kelsey, says pro-choice campaigners have reasons to be optimistic:
