Gala occasion to remember Dougie Buxton
The Villa Marina Royal Hall will host a special gala concert tonight (Saturday) to remember a man who inspired generations of Island singers and musicians.
More than 400 primary school pupils will take to the stage to honour the life and achievements of the late Dougie Buxton.
The biennial Children in Song concert at 7pm is organised by the Department of Education’s music service and the Douglas Buxton Music Trust.
Trust chairman, Geoff Corkish, says young people will get a lot out of a concert dedicated to someone who made an immeasurable contribution to Manx music.
