Douglas lights switched on
Christmas officially arrived in Douglas tonight (Thurs 26)
The town's festive lights were switched on during a big street party outside the town hall.
Fireworks were let off as the lights went on and the event was broadcast live on Manx Radio.
There was entertainment from Douglas Town Band . . ten year old singing sensation Grace Lee . . who's recorded a Christmas single with Shane from Westlife . . and there was the traditional countdown to the big moment . .
The evening was also the first night of late night Thursday opening in the run up to Christmas
