CoMin consider Level 3 borders split

Framework changes outlined in government conference

The chief minister says the Council of Ministers is considering changing the Island's borders framework, to split level 3 into two parts.

At level '3A' Manx residents will be able to 'sponsor' immediate family members to visit, all while undergoing a period of 14 days self-isolation.

Level '3B' extends this rule to cover 'business and friends'.

But, for now, we will remain at level 4.

• No change to borders currently, however CoMin looking to split Level 3 into 3A (allowing residents to 'sponsor' immediate family members off-Island, to visit with a period of mandatory isolation) and 3B ('sponsorship' stretches to friends and business visits). More details 'coming shortly'.

• Hospitality to adopt UK's 5% VAT until the end of March- as announced by Chancellor Rishi Sunak earlier today.

• Education Minister Dr Alex Allinson urged students to apply for landing cards, just in case.
