Hartford Homes development will see 300+ new homes in Braddan
The chairman of Braddan Commissioners has branded planning approval for more than 300 new homes as ‘disappointing’.
Permission for the development at Ballafletcher – which will also include a nursery and primary school - has been granted after appeals against the plans were dismissed.
The local authority believes that the field is one of the last parts of a green belt between Douglas and Braddan, something that a number of residents in the area agree with.
Andrew Jessopp says there are also some inconsistencies including a lack of awareness about flooding and odour management.
He believes there will also be traffic problems on Braddan Road:
