Treasury currently collects rates for over half of local authorities
A Ramsey Commissioner says Treasury is 'well placed' to collect local authority rates.
Juan McGuinness says the government department collects the 'majority' of them and he is 'mildly' worried that outsourcing to a private company has been brought up in Tynwald.
It comes after Treasury Minister Alex Allinson announced there will be a consultation into how rates debt will be collected.
The issue was raised in Tynwald this week by Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Tim Glover.
