Traditional event takes place at Ballagyr
One of the highlights of rural life on the Island stages a post lockdown come-back this weekend.
The traditional Cronk y Voddy match will take today (Saturday, 1st May), at Ballagyr just outside Peel, from 10.30am through to 3.15pm.
All are welcome and the marquee will be serving best ploughman and woman’s fayre, including bacon baps and what are billed as the 'best cakes in the west'.
On Saturday 8th May, at the same time and venue, the Horse Ploughing Championships will take place (though there will also be tractor ploughing).
That evening, a prize presentation for both events takes place at St John’s Methodist Church Hall followed by supper and a concert..
All proceeds from the events will go to the Cronk y Voddy ploughing committee nominated charity, which this year is Manx Blind Welfare.
