Minister seeks incentives to retain school staff
Tuition fees of Manx employed secondary school teachers returning to the Isle of Man are being paid for by the Department of Education and Children.
The measure is currently being trialled by the department - it's Minister says more incentives need to be introduced to retain talent for the Island's schools.
23 primary school and 47 high school teachers will reach retirement age over the next 10 years - that deficit is compounded with a UK teacher shortage.
Graham Cregeen made the issue part of his manifesto - believing the Island needs to be more competitive.
He says it's a work in progress, which could result in a tax benefit too.
