Daphne Caine will question two minister at Tuesday's Tynwald
Some traders in Laxey claim they’ve seen a decrease in the number of tourists and visitors to the area.
They say ongoing work at the Laxey Wheel, as well as work on the village’s flood defences, is having an impact.
In Tynwald this week Garff MHK Daphne Caine will ask Infrastructure Minister Chris Thomas what flood defence work has been completed in Laxey and what remains to be done.
She'll also ask Enterprise Minister Tim Crookall what progress has been made with the Laxey Wheel restoration.
Manx National Heritage says it hopes to complete the ‘significant restoration work’ on Laxey Wheel by the end of August.
Mrs Caine says she’s concerned about the loss of footfall in the area:
Faulty device believed to have triggered multi-agency search effort
Payroll firm reprimanded after thousands of personal records discovered in abandoned shredding bins
Finish line in sight for Atlantic rowers
Further delays to Manxman sailings following weather disruption
