Carbon dating shows creature died 14,500 years ago
Carbon dating has revealed the Manx Museum's giant deer skeleton is over 14,000 years old.
The imposing figure - which has long been a Manx National Heritage centrepiece - was examined by researchers from Oxford University earlier this year.
Results suggests it predated humans on the Island, and that it may have walked here from Ireland or England during a time when land bridges existed between the Isles.
