Government is advertising for a new chief officer for the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
It's as Scott Gallacher is to leave this summer after taking up the role in August 2023.
A job description reveals the successful applicant will receive £100,658 to £110,545 per annum for the 37 hour a week post.
It reads: "DEFA is proud to work in partnership with all sectors of the Manx community to safeguard and enhance the essentials of life – food, air, land and water.
"The Department holds policy responsibility for a wide range of areas including agriculture, animal health and welfare, environmental protection, energy, food, forestry, fisheries, ecosystems, planning and building control and provides the Island’s development management function.
"As Chief Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Department, ensuring the delivery of effective programmes and services in line with the Island Plan and the Department’s Service Delivery Plans.
"As the most senior civil servant within the Department, you will be a confident, visible leader who upholds the values of the Public Service and drives forward DEFA’s priorities.
A security clearance check is also required for the post, which the advert reveals will be funded by the Isle of Man Government.
