An initiative set up to help those with dementia was officially launched as a registered charity over the weekend
Manx Decaf runs monthly cafes where those who have dementia or memory problems, along with their relatives and carers, can meet in a relaxed setting to chat, have a drink and receieve support.
The first cafe was set up in 2006, and the movement has been such a success there are now two more.
Member of the Department of Health with responsibility for mental health Leonard Singer MHK says the decision to register as a charity earlier this year means funds can now be raised to help the initiative continue and develop.
"Doreen" started attending Decaf when she was caring for her husband who suffered from Alzheimers.
Though he passed away five years ago she has continued to attend the gatherings and says they have always been a great help to her: (play audio)
Manx DeCaf sessions are run at Whispers Bar in Douglas, the function room at Ramsey Town Hall and the Cherry Orchard Hotel in Port Erin.
