Plea is being put out to local authorities
A Rushen MHK is pressing for all local authorities to get their beaches designated.
Dr Michelle Haywood is a marine biologist by trade, and a political member of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
She says designating beaches would help underline the seaside facilities for visitors around the Island.
Dr Haywood spoke to Manx Radio's John Moss on Brewery Beach in the Rushen constituency:
