New NHS England regime already in place here
Obtaining everyday medicines such as painkillers and indigestion tablets on the NHS has never been so difficult on the Isle of Man.
That's according Dr Alex Allinson, Ramsey MHK and GP, who says the Island's health service is two years ahead of the UK in cutting prescription costs.
Sunscreen, travel vaccinations, vitamin supplements, plasters, paracetemol and gluten-free products are among items which GPs in England will not be able to prescribe in future.
NHS England says the move will save £128 million a year.
In the Island, the DHSC has been told to save £10 million from its annual budget this year.
