Four years of events marking 100 years since the outbreak of hostilities in the Great War are underway.
A major exhibiton will open on February 8 at the Manx Museum in Douglas and will run for at least a year.
A book by MNH Curator for Social History, Matthew Richardson, entitled ‘This Terrible Ordeal: Manx Letters, Diaries and Memories of the Great War’ was launched by MNH at the end of 2013.
MNH Director Edmund Southworth is chairman of a working group set up by the Chief Minister to co-ordinate the commemorations.
He sees it as something for the whole community and says a lot of information from the war will be made available digitally.
