Signs need to be recognised
The director of public health has described how health employees can be trained to spot someone who might be contemplating suicide.
But Dr Henrietta Ewart has told a Tynwald scrutiny committee of the possible dangers in opening a conversation with someone who appeared to be in possible danger.
Dr Ewart and the health minister, David Ashford, were giving evidence on the department's approach to helping those who might be contemplating suicide.
