Rex's future still uncertain
A controversial legal dispute involving an Island pet is still not over.
Rex the rescue dog was reported to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture by a Manx vet early last year over concerns he might be a banned pit bull type breed.
It was subsequently dealt with the by a UK Home Office expert
The case was not taken up by the Crown Prosecution Service, but police in Essex continued to hold the animal in quarantine while appeals were settled.
Rex will now have his case heard on 1 May.
It's hoped a favourable decision will allow him return home.
An appeal to raise the £1,500 needed to cover his legal costs has been launched online.
