Event postponed from yesterday
The fireworks will go ahead in Douglas bay this evening, it's been confirmed.
Douglas Council Leader David Christian says a replacement firing unit flown over to the Isle of Man this morning has been tested and is working.
The technical problems caused last night's planned display to be postponed, but not before people waited around in the cold for around an hour.
Mr Christian says Bill Mummery from the event's sponsors feels so bad about what happened, he has organised a little something for free by way of an apology: (play audio)
The fireworks are on from 7.30pm.
