Ford allegedly stabbed man in shoulder
A Douglas man accused of trying to stab a man to death shouted “You’re next” at a woman, a court’s heard.
Twenty-nine-year-old Paul Michael Dale Ford of Willaston Crescent appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse via a live video link from the Isle of Man prison.
He’s accused of possessing an offensive weapon in public, making threats to kill, attempted murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the court Mr Ford was drinking with friends at his home until the early hours of 11 July when an argument broke out and they left.
Mr Ford’s said to have followed them outside with a large knife, pushing the woman to the ground and punching her as well as stamping on her.
He’s then alleged to have stabbed her boyfriend in the shoulder and tried to stab him in the chest.
The hearing was told he shouted “You’re dead, I’m going to kill you” as his alleged victim begged him to stop before police arrived.
Mr Ford hasn’t yet entered pleas to any of the charges and magistrates said his case would have to be heard at a court of General Gaol Delivery.
He was remanded in custody to appear again on 13 August.
