34-year-old banned from road for two years
A Douglas man has been banned from the road for two years after being caught drug driving in TT week.
Wesley Milson Jenkins, of Victoria Road, was stopped by police in his VW Golf on Central Promenade on 6 June.
The 34-year-old failed a drug wipe test and was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters – tests there showed he was over the legal limit.
During sentencing at Douglas Courthouse Jenkins’ advocate told the court his client had consumed cannabis the night before to help with ‘personal issues’.
"He thought, genuinely, he’d be fit to drive," he added.
Fining Jenkins £1,000, and ordering him to pay £125 in prosecution costs, Magistrates told him: "It’s a hard lesson to learn."
Jenkins will remain disqualified until he’s taken and passed an extended test.
