Fourth sunniest on record
It was the fourth sunniest October since records began and the driest for ten years.
The figures from the Met Office at Ronaldsway show there were 124.3 hours of bright sunshine - 20 per cent above normal.
Rainfall was 57 per cent below the long-term mean - at 44.1 mm, and there was a brief wet spell mid-month with heavy rain and thunderstorms, which led to minor flooding where drains were blocked.
We had a higher than average temperature of 11.9 C, wind speed was at 14.6 mph - slightly below average.
There were no frosts or hail recorded but fog briefly affected the airport on the evening on Friday 28th.
