Updates being considered as election consultation closes
Developing an electronic voting system for a general election is not a priority.
That's from the Isle of Man Government following a consultation on modernising the electoral system, which closed this week.
New legislation is expected to appear next month.
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas says, with the next general election due in the autumn of 2021, other areas to e-voting are more deserving of attention.
Those other areas should take precedence:

Meanwhile, an experienced general election returning officer has warned against any introduction of electronic voting.
