Group also claims virus strategy lacks 'empathy'
Government has been accused of lacking 'compassion' when announcing Covid-19 deaths on the Isle of Man.
Minutes from a meeting of the Emergency Advisory Group have criticised the communication strategy.
The group – which provides external advice, insight and perspective to the Council of Ministers – has also criticised the language used in the latest Covid strategy document.
It says it lacks 'empathy' when considering the impact of the virus on individuals and the community.
Minutes taken from a meeting held on 16 August have now been published – on that day the EAG discussed the government's strategic short term approach to living with Covid-19.
The EAG said whilst it was 'broadly supportive' of the strategy it had concerns over the lack of mandatory mitigations and highlighted 'concerns' over the number of deaths.
It also called for the continued need for 'refinement of data' and for clearer communications around mitigations for businesses.
