An Isle of Man economist has told Manx Radio he’s concerned that the Island’s reputation is being tarnished by companies allegedly carrying out ‘pig butchering’.
John Webster’s comments come just days before a 'Countering Financial Crime Conference' which is taking place on Wednesday (9 October).
In August this year a BBC World Service report claimed that an investment scam, operated from the Isle of Man, conned victims in China out of millions of dollars.

Government has previously said it has a ‘zero-tolerance’ attitude towards such activities and remains committed to identifying, disrupting and preventing international criminal activity.
