A 'turning point' for 'civilised' society
An education specialist has been reflecting on 150-years since compulsory education was brought into force.
In 1872, the Isle of Man Government passed the Education Bill for public elementary education.
It was described as a turning-point to creating a 'civilised' society.
Professor Angela Little says it was actually a re-introduction of compulsory education:

Plantation wood, telegraph poles and Satnav to be discussed in the House of Keys
Immigration changes designed to stop exploitation by 'bad eggs'
Contingency budget for horse tram tracks 'significantly increased'
