Family 'devastated' by his 'tragic passing'
The cyclist who died during yesterday's End 2 End Mountain Bike Challenge has been named.
Seventy-one-year-old Nigel Park, from Glen Mona, died from injuries sustained when he came off his bike on private land at Ballacraine.
Police say it happened at around 12.30pm while he was 'traversing an obstacle'.
His family have said: "Dad was a regular competitor and keen mountain biker, we are understandably devastated by his tragic passing but we take comfort in knowing he was doing something he loved alongside good friends."
They have also requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
