DDA came into effect last week
New legislation banning discrimination against disabled people has been welcomed by health bosses - but they admit it's unclear how it will be enforced.
The first phase of the Disability Discrimination Act was implemented last week (Thu).
That means it's now illegal to unfairly exclude those who suffer physical and mental impairments.
But by 2020, all public places will have to ensure they provide reasonable and safe access.
DHSC Chief Executive Malcolm Couch says the finer points of the law are still being worked out.
