Chief Minister provides statement on importance of facility
Laxey Glen Mills currently has enough wheat in its silos for the next two years at the current rate of production.
That's according to the Chief Minister who was asked to provide a statement today on the importance of the facility to the Island.
Garff MHK Daphne Caine pointed out that the mill made a loss of £19,000 in the year before the closure of Ramsey Bakery in April 2022.
Alfred Cannan expects that figure to have risen but says he will seek clarity with Treasury on the situation:
