The family of a woman killed when she was hit by a car earlier this year have spoken of the pain her loss has caused, on the day the man responsible for her death was sentenced.
Thirty-year-old St John's man Donovan Kitching, who pleaded guilty to causing the death of Gwen Valentine, has today (Thursday) been sent to prison for 10 years and 72 days in prison.
He also admitted possessing drugs, driving while disqualified and without insurance.
Sixty-two year old Miss Valentine from Winchester was walking on the Tholt-y-Will Road on April 26 when she was struck by a vehicle Kitching was driving.
Outside court, her son Stuart said her death had devastated the family.
