One incident saw main road closed for a time
Firefighters were mobilised to house fires in Laxey and Santon during yesterday (21 April).
Crews from Douglas and Laxey were called to the Laxey area at 6.56pm on Thursday where a property was well alight with flames coming out of all windows.
A section of the A2 Main Road in the area was cordoned off for a time whilst teams dealt with the incident.
Once the flames were pushed back from outside, four teams were able to enter the property and extinguish the fire.
Separately, Douglas and Castletown teams responded to a fire in a bedroom of a dwelling in Santon at 1.31pm yesterday.
A breathing apparatus crew was quickly dispatched to the scene to put out the fire which was subsequently neutralized.
