Conversion plan for southern base
The government’s applied to turn an ambulance station in the south of the Island into a fire station.
The Department of Homes Affairs has applied for planning permission to convert the ambulance facility at Southlands in Port Erin.
In its application, the department says it would build a single-storey extension to the building as well as changing the use of the premises.
It also wants to build car parking for firefighters and an emergency generator at the back of hte building on Castletown Road.
