Two more to qualify in 2018
The first Manx-trained GP has begun work as partner at Palatine Group Practice.
Dr Melanie Schick is resident GP at the Douglas surgery after graduating from a three-year top-up medical course.
Established five years ago, the programme is designed to address a shortage in recruits - with the assistance of five of the Island's 12 practices.
Six trainees are currently studying on the same scheme - helped by the Department of Health and Social Care.
Two more are expected to qualify next year.
